Ta’Nyi Reed Returns -Amazing Girl from South Bend, Indiana

17 Year-old model Ta’Nyi Reed returns to lead the Black Edition of Maelle Kids Magazine, she talks about her career, surviving COVID-19 (Corona-Virus) and more. Check back for the official release date in a few days. Ta’nyi is an honor roll student, class president, star athlete, and future veterinarian from South Bend, Indiana.

She and her family appeared on the Ellen Show to discuss how their mom drives to a parking lot with internet access. So she and her siblings can do their school work. Their story touch Ellen so much, she decided to give them money, iPads and paid for their internet for a year.

Where are you from? I am from South Bend, Indiana.
Do you have any brothers or sisters? I have plenty of brothers and sisters.
Who is the funniest person in your family? My little sister, Ta’Myra, is the funniest person I know.
What is your biggest fear? I don’t want to disappoint my mom.
How do you deal with rejection? I accept rejection, it’s okay to take a loss because you learn from them.
Tell up your biggest struggle? My biggest struggle is coming back from surgery to catch up on all my work for good grades. The struggling part is that a teacher made it harder for me.
How did it feel to appear on The Ellen Show? I excited and had a lot of joy. She is one of my role models.
When did you first perform on a tv show or movie? The Ellen show was my first time being on a tv show.
Have you appeared on any other TV shows? I have appeared on the Today show a couple of times.
What is going to surprise people about the show? I do not know what will surprise people about the show because I will be surprised too.
What do you think viewers will think about while watching the show? They will think; Ellen DeGeneres is a great person, and she is a phenomenal woman.
Why did Ellen contact you? Ellen contacted us because she saw us on The Today Show and NBC. It showed how we handled ourselves during the pandemic.
Who does inspire you? I look up to my mother. She taught me everything I know.
What is the last thing you do before you step on set? Who has the best wardrobe on the show?
What other talents do you have besides acting? I can model, and also play the piano and sing a little bit.
What do you love about fashion? Fashion is a figure of your personality.
Do you have a favorite pair of shoes? I do not have a favorite pair of shoes.
What fashion designer would you like to collaborate with? I would love to work with Ade Samuel.
Do you like school? I enjoy school.

Are you ready to finish school? Yes, I am excited to accomplish what I have started.
What is your favorite subject in school? I enjoy English.
What would you like to learn next? I would like to learn how to write an inspirational poem.
Do you study black history? Yes, I love black history.
Who is your favorite black author? Maya Angelou is my favorite author.
Who are your favorite black figures? Some of my favorite black figures are Maya Angelou, Michael Jackson, Will Smith, & Whitney Houston.
Why does your life matter? My life matters, because I am the next generation in the black community to use my voice as a weapon.
What do you think about the Black protest? I do not agree with tearing down their city, but do agree with the black community finally standing up.
What would you like to see change? I would like to see racism, stereotypes, and discrimination for people of color to stop.
If you could change anything about school, what would you change? I would change anything about school. I would add in black history to be taught year-round instead of just in February.
How do you balance going to school and acting? I do not act yet, but I plan to in the future.
Who is your favorite music artist, and why? My favorite artist is Michael Jackson because he didn’t just think about himself. He thought about others. No matter their skin color.
Can you sing? I can do a little singing, still working on it.
What type of sports do you play now? I do cheerleading, volleyball, and track.
What do you do to stay healthy? Playing sports always helps me stay healthy!
What type of food do you eat to stay healthy? The foods I eat to stay healthy are plenty of fruits, yogurt, and anything green.
What type of music do you listen to when you workout? I always listen to motivational music while working out.
Who is your favorite artist or band? Boyz ll Men is my favorite band! Do you have any favorite apps? My favorite apps are Snapchat, Instagram, and TikTok.
Are you into video games, what is your favorite video game? My favorite video game is Mortal Kombat!
Are you reading anything good? I am reading the Three Who Dared. The book is about three young men going down South to make a change.
Who is your favorite author? Maya Angelou is my favorite author because her poems drive my spirit.
What is your favorite book? I love the Neverending Story.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now? Five years from now, I see myself being in a movie!
What advice do you have for kids and teens that would like to model and act? I would love to tell the teens and kids that if you believe you will achieve it and it will be yours!
What project do you have coming up? I have a seventies theme shoot soon.
